Cant identify what weapons are on the models 40k for awhile (Necrons/Tau) and just recently was able to acquire maybe 8000-9000 point tyranid army, and as i know some of the models and can figure some of the weapons (maybe 1/5 of them all) i cant figure out what is what. That is what I would say. After all how can you play with them if you don't have a codex? Unless he has the codex and not being familiar with Nids it would be hard to understand what is what and where to look.

So if you don't have the codex, buy it or do what ever you do, and then post pics on what you need to know.
