My Tech-Priest is a gene purity specialist, i.e. its his job to analyses a populations DNA for impurities and mutations. Due to an agreement between the Mechanicus and the Inquisition (Ordo Hereticus and Xenos) he also has the authority to instigate military action and purges. So he's the closest a Tech-Priest can get to being an Inquisitor.

His was selected and trained for this task, so he dose not fall into any one faction of the Mechanicum. He is trained in both the building and upkeep of technology as well as being taught necessary skills required for genetic analysis. He's a very ridged, no nonsense individual who treats every case he is involved with with the utmost seriousness and will take any action to insure mankinds purity, and there by, its future. This makes him very popular with the high ups of the Mechanicum and Inquisition but universally disliked, feared and/or hated by pretty much anyone else.

He's always on the move, traveling in his on personal ship, to were ever he is requested to go as well as dealing with any material that is sent to him. The forces he commands are of the mechanicum, trained/built to fulfill the task "cleansing impure flesh with the technological perfection of the Omnissiah". They can function as an independent force or join with others if need be.

As his role entails, he primarily deals with mutants, chaos cultists, alien sympathizers and genestealer cults. However he also has another secret role, Astartes gene seed analysis, investigation and if the need arises termination.
