If you place the Drop Pod dead center you can scatter aroind 5 inches with the doors shut and still be in range to hold. If you drop the doors down then you have a bit more distance to scatter.

They don't have objective secured though so you will need to blow any oposing models off the objective. The drop pod is a good camper though.

Automatically Appended Next Post:

dameanone wrote:
I like it, just be careful of people who will null deploy on you. That way I still have 3 squads to hit them with in a counter punch

Not as brutal on the offensive but still not a bad option.

The NDK's can handle the Interceptors when I drop an empty Pod in.

Yes this is a Combined Arms Detachment.
I find this to work best as you can combat squad your Veterans after they hit the ground.
You also get Objective Secured with the Drop Pods which gives them a good role after the guys jump out.

Automatically Appended Next Post:

Glass wrote:
I really like how this looks... He was running a Venom Spam Dark Eldar army. It was my jobs to remove vehicles and his job to blast away anything with a Toughness value.

It worked a treat and we placed 1st.

I think with this type of Army it is very important to pick your targets wisely to prevent getting hit back.

Basically anything with AP3+ must die or be out of range after Turn 1.

Another Tactic for Beta Strike Armies is to drop in the empty pods first. That way you can have your guys comming in fresh another turn to counter Beta Strike.
