Looking for tutorial on how to age clothing.

Hi there, as the title suggests I am looking for a how to paint aged/old/worn clothing. I have been searching but have failed to find a tutorial that is what I am looking for. I have searched over undead painting guides but the clothing is either to bright for my liking or simple and dark. If anyone has good tips or links to any guides I would be much appreciated.

I am going to start painting my Greebo Undead blood bowl team in the new year (http://www.greebo-games.com/shop/ancient-kem-team-16-models/), so people can have an idea what is being painted. Think the colours are going to be cream/white, reds, blues. But those are subject to change potentially.

Cheers!
Kyle

For a start, I'd look at what the base colour of the raw fibers are of the material, ie linen is a light beige, wool is normally grey etc. Then consider where the most rubbing would occur on the model, a scribe's elbows, a priest's knees, the hem of a long coat or skirt, around button holes etc. Then blend from the dyed colour to the raw colour in those areas to make it look like the dye has faded.

There are no doubt much better painters than myself who will recommend other ways, but it will get you started.
