I am playing in a fun 1250 point friendly tourney in mid Jan and haven't played 40K in aaaages...

Comes in right on 1250.

I know that the Morkanaut is that competitive, but I have just finished painting it and really want to get it on the table.

General idea is to point the MANZ missile with Pain Boy at something and let loose. Also to have the grots screen the Boyz until in charge range and the Morkanaut is there because it looks cool!

I do like the list though. Footsloggers and naughts are lots of fun to play. We will be playing a few games and the missions will be random Eternal War missions and I didn't think about using the 'Naut as a transport...

It's tough to find the extra 40 points for the Wagon with the Morkanaut though so this it what I've come up with.

I didn't mean to talk you out of the morkanaut. It's got great armour and enough HP to absorb a lot of firepower regardless of target saturation. This list is gonna be much more competitive but if you want the naut, just play it man. (Or woman) fun is the real goal, winning is just a means to that end.

The lobbas are a fantastic choice here. Use it to pin enemy heavy weapon squads. 3 AV14 vehicles are going to be a nightmare to deal with, tau players are gonna gak their pants over it. you've doubled the amount of scoring units in your list so that's gonna help mightily capturing objectives. Be sure to take your koptas in 2 units of one for maximum annoyance.

If you'd think it'd be more fun to do a footslogger list, go with the naut. Hell maybe even two. You have to commit whole heartily to slogging, no half measures like having one trukk. Go all foot, but give them lots of fire support. Tankbustas, lootas, mek gunz. Something to trade shots with them. Go double CAD, take 3 pain boys, that kind of thing. I'm on a lame iPad but I'll find the vid where SS82 revamps his ork list after going on a rough losing streak, he goes mechanized ultimately, but keeps his morkanaut. That new list is actually on something of a win streak.
