Traitor Legion Death Guard Raptors

Hello my fellow Dakkanauts, I am here to ask the opinion of the community! I am making a new list for Death Guard from the Traitor Legion supplement and will be adding raptors to the list, These bad boys come in at T5 with a feel no pain that rerolls 1 (because of the decurion), however they are reduced to i3. As a result I feel like a powersword is not a good option since they will already be striking after most things that threaten them in combat. So my question is do I kit out the champion with a power axe, or do I spring for a fist? Right now they will be rocking 2 meltas and a combo per squad.

I'd spring for the fist. At the costs you're dumping into these things you're better off making them hit harder than trying to backpedal and save the 10pts at the end.

Re:Traitor Legion Death Guard Raptors

I think springing for both Plasma and a Powerfist are both almost required for DG Raptors. You want them hitting hard and inflicting a good hurt on whatever you DS near, so paying for those is going to help ensure that you succeed. Now whether or not the T5, 3+/5+++ with a reroll of 1's on the FnP will carry you into anther combat after that .... I'm not so sure.

Fist. It's versatile, so your squad will have a weapon that can hurt more or less anything. And yeah I3 means...Dropping down to I1 isn't a huge loss.
