Harlequin army + wraithknight: not a lot of freedom

I would like to make a harlequin themed (modeling wise) army, that also includes a wraithknight as I have seen some really nice conversions/paintjobs of harlequin styled wraithknights. The problem that I am facing is that harlequins seem to have a very limited freedom in their army composition. Preferable my army would be playable for 500, 1000, 1500 and 1850 points, but the way harlequin armies are constructed, it seems to be really hard to use the same models for all point ranges. I am not a competative player, but do not mind if I use strong units.

For the eldar side, I'm considering a warlock and 2 units of jetbikes as the 'tax' for the wraithknight. I don't think there is any way to get it that would work with the harlequin style, but I am open for suggestions. At higher values, the windrider host seems like a nice idea to allow for a second wraithknight while having overlapping models with the cad at lower point levels. If the harlequin points are indeed too restrictive, I'm not agains including more eldar units as long as they can be modelled as harlequins.

From the harlequin range I like the characters and players most, the jetbikes I also enjoy but the vehicles tickly my fancy slightly less, although there is no hate ( I think almost every way to include harlequins forces the vehicles?)

That brings me to my question: which harlequin detachments should I use to make a proper army at the different point levels?

Thank you for your time and reply.

Harlequin army + wraithknight: not a lot of freedom

I've always built my harlequin army around a Masque detachment. It's the only way to get Shadowseers that are full ICs in an army. Being able to run and charge is also a wonderful asset to have on your troupes.

Usually, I've run a shadowseer, solitaire, three troupes, three transports (one dedicated, two fast attack), obligatory void weaver in a masque as my primary. Death Spectre if I want to protect a unit with shrouding.

For eldar allies, a farseer on jetbike, two units of bikes, and a skathach wraithknight with infernos is my go to CAD. Enough to add some long range shooting, quality ap1 shots, and more psychic dice to help out the harlequins.

I've slotted in the Heroes' Path a few times to larger eldar armies for fun (certainly is great for all three characters) and have tried to make heroes path + falochu's blade work with a bike themed force.

As you mentioned, most of the problem is that at minimum, a masque detachment runs you 500 points exactly, before upgrades. You can comfortably do harlequins as a mono army up to 1250 points or so, but anything higher you need allies to flesh out your force and not be lacking for anti-tank or long range.
Consider a different army at 500 points or at least bump it up to 600 points to get some wargear for your troupes. 1000 is the minimum I would play harlequins at.
