My question is how much do codexs change from addition to addition ,as I have heard there may be a new addition added soon. Would I be wasting my money by getting this or are the changes minor? Would I be able to get any amended rules or changes if I did get it? In the past 4 edition changes, Codexes have been useable with the new edition - though Space Marines tend to be updated and replaced the quickest.

If you're playing now, it's might still be worth it to pick up the Space Marine Codex since you can get 5-6 months of gaming in before the new edition hits.

I picked up the 2nd edition Angels of Death Codex a few months before 3rd edition landed and invalidated it completely.
