Someone once told me that the Huffington Post is a great place to go for left-leaning people that want to have their own preconceived thoughts verified without being challenged, but not a good source of information for the unbiased. I used to want to give Huff Po the benefit of the doubt, but after today I seem to agree with that sentiment. In an article posted to their site they posted some statistics that have been previously shot down by other news organizations (and I don't mean fringe news outlets). I, along with a few other posters, linked and quoted The Slate, Washington Post, Times, and the Wall Street Journal. Within about 2 hours all of our comments had been removed.


None of our comments had violated their terms of use. It wasn't even the links that did it, as opposing views were allowed to keep their posts with links active. I guess Huffington Post didn't appreciate it when I pointed out a Washington Post fact checker giving their information 3 Pinocchios.

I realize the Huffington Post is far from the only news outlet that does this. I also know that there are other places even more biased (in one way or another). My main two problems are places like these masquerading as "news" sites instead of glorified editorials or opinion blogs. I also have a problem with their apparent crackdown on decent from their opinion. Say what you will, but allow others to call you out on it.
