Chain Link Conversions

I was wondering who has used jeweler chain for model conversions. I was interested in using it in an up and coming project. The only issue I guess I have is that it will be flopping around and loose. Has anyone ever had to harden it so it doesn't move at all. I was considering superglue but I have a feeling it'll leave a residue on the chain. Suggestions or thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Super glue leaves a little bit of residue but if you're light with it and use a thin glue, it's not really noticeable me once painted.
