Ordering from GW: In stock vs Out of Stock

Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to share an experience i'm having.

I ordered a few items on 1/16 from Games Workshop webiste, paid for fast shipping, and still nothing today. I called their support, and it turns out, that even if you purchase something in stock, it's entirely possible that the local distributor is out of stock.

What this means, is that if they have 5 of your items on hand, and 1 item (that was shown as "in stock") is actually out of stock, they will hold your entire order, until that one item can be shipped.

Normally this would be no problem, however there is no way to actually track this, or see this in any way, on their website. It just shows the order as "pending" and the delivery days fluctuates (from 1-3 to 2-5, depending on the hour, really).

I called their support and got this ironed out in about 5 minutes, and they're giving me super fast shipping on everything and will make the adjustments to get it out today. I won't be getting that one specific item until later, which is fine, it just won't hold up the rest.

With all of the new stuff coming out, new bundles, etc, you will want to call their support to confirm that the order has been processed. Ultimately my order of Curse of the Wulfen, Wrath of Magnus, Magnus, Triumvirate, 10x32mm bases was delayed for the past 10 business days because Curse of the Wulfen is out of stock at the distributor. And there was no way to see this from the website. I did request that the customer service rep pass that feedback along to the web team, and he said he would they have a process for that.

EDIT - they discounted my stuff and are sending me curse of the wulfen for free.

Good luck everyone with your purchases

Ordering from GW: In stock vs Out of Stock

Hmm... I remember in the past that they used to have an option on checkout where you could have them hold until all items were available or ship in parts as items are available but hadn't seen it in a couple of website updates. I used to live in Hawaii where there was no GW store and so if one of the few hobby stores didn't have what I wanted (which was pretty often) I had to order it, so I ordered ALOT from the website. As you experienced though, the CS at GW is amazing, I've never had anything but good interactions with them. In fact, when the first of the 3 art prints was avaliable I put in a $200+ order on the Saturday. The print wasn't included and when I contacted them the rep marked the first order returned with the print to have the print sent to me. Came in yesterday.
