Tomb Blade load out for Necron Kill Team

Hey guys! So I have a kill team league coming up next week. It's a little interesting, as once your models get killed off (chance of them actually dieing after being removed from the game), you can spend your "Laurels of Victory" to bump your list back up to 200pts. So any way, i'll be running 5 praetorians and 3 scarab swarms to start (was the only "effective" team I could build at the time). But I figure the scarabs won't last past 2 or 3 games. So I bought a box of tomb blades to replace them as they die out.

I think I'll keep using the Praetorians, refilling numbers as they drop, so that leaves me with 60 pts. Enough for 3 tomb blades and up to 2pts/model for gear.

Which load outs do you prefer? I was thinking of going with the Particle Beamer to help with hordes, and at S6 I'll be glancing most armor on 5s, instead of 6s. Buuuuuut it scatters

However, being kill team and expecting lots of cover, the Nebuloscope could be a game changer. The shield vanes are another tantalizing option.

I was able to look at the sign up sheet when I registered today, and so far there's only 3 of us, one being Space Wolves and the other didnt list his race. Not much help, but it offers some insight on what to expect.

Definitely nebuloscope. The smaller scale of the game makes cover that much more important and it allows your twin-linked gauss blasters to tear apart enemy bikers and pretty much anything that doesn't have a 3+ save. It also means that if you give any of them specialist traits that you basically can stack another buff on top of what they have.

The particle beamer's issue is that none of your enemy's models have to stay in 2" coherency which makes it relatively easy to counter compared to normal 40K.

Shield Vanes are nice, but not necessary since you already have a jink save and RP to fall back on. You want more offensive power as Necrons. The shadowloom is another similar kind of upgrade whose effectiveness is situational.

Yes, Ignoring cover is the best option. The cool thing about Tomb blade, however is that each model can be different.
If you are able to change you leader between games, it might be a good idea to have 1 TB with either Shield Vanes or Shadowloom just to keep him durable. but all other TBs should have the Ignores cover.

My leader right now is one of praetorians, due to league rules it's any one that is a character or if thhere are no characters then its the one with the highest leadership. I'll definitely keep that in mind if he gets killed off.

Thanks for the advice!

The only reason I tend to favor Warlords/Leaders that are no CC oriented is because you can keep them farther from danger. A Praetorian is a good leader choice for KT, but you also may want him to join CC and be at more risk.
A TB leader will rarely want to get close to CC and can turbo-boost out of a dangerous area.

Just food for thought for later games/leagues
