First set of games - HQ only (Infantry or Jump Infantry only)
Second set of games - HQ + Troops (no restriction on type this time)

So, I went ahead and picked up an Autarch with Swooping Hawk Wings for my HQ and a set of three Windriders with Scatter Lasters as my troop choice.

I just asked the manager if he happened to know what he was planning after the HQ + Troops games were over. And, he said he hasn't thought that far ahead, yet. With the exception of a couple of touch-ups and some highlights, I'm finished painting the Autarch and Windriders. And, I want something to work on over the weekend.

I'm thinking with the speed of the units I have so far, maybe some Vypers would be a good next step? Or would you recommend some Elites? I have a feeling it'll be one or the other he chooses. I doubt he'll bring in heavies or flyers yet.

A lot depends on how competitive you want to be.

For elites, I’d get either a unit of Fire Dragons or Wraithguard. Both work. Probably in a transport.

For FA, with your autarch, I might pick up a squad of swooping hawks. I do like Vypers, but they are a bit overshadowed by scatbikes. Warp Spiders are probably going to be the cream of the slot if you are just going for blood.

For a HS slot, I’d look into a start collecting box. Although you mentioned how you all aren't moving to heavies yet, I recommend swooping hawks as Nevelon said, they are really fitting of eldar... Super fast, shooty, but not too tough.
