I'm trying to figure out if one will fit in my existing mini storage. Can someone who owns it help me out? I've been trying to tell from pictures like this but it's too close for me to feel confident with my estimate. (My best guess right now is 18.2cm, which is slightly too long for my case.)

One easy way to get an accurate measurement: use two parallel boxes, and slide them into the front & back of the model:
