Rules E-books question

Hello all,

Up until this point I have still been buying all of my rule books and codices in traditional hardback. I've decided to switch to buying electronic versions. If I am using an ipad mini to view them, what is the difference between the enhanced versions and the regular tablet pdf versions? Is it worth the extra money?

Thanks!

I bought the iPad version because on the iPad or Mac you can click on or tap on a hyper link say Furious Charge and it will pop up automatically what Furious Charge is.

That said I would not buy it right now. In 6th edition I bought it and 3 months later 7th edition came out. With 8th edition rumoured around the corner, I would wait to get anything right now, be it paper or electronic format.

That said, I love the interactive versions. It has helped me out so much. You can even book mark pages so no real flipping through pages as well. So yes worth the extra money for me. Well I didn't even buy the paper version this time around.

For 8th edition I will get the interactive version and not bother with the paper version most likely again.

I would like better/more detailed tables of contents (expandable headers?). Yet, both of these are minor concerns.

The upside to ebooks is that you have them all right there for easy search and reference, and they do get updated regularly. The downsides are that they are all in one place, and updates might be slower than print, faster than print, and sometimes hidden so you don't know what got updated.

Recommend always having access to the physical copy of the rules when you play, or agree beforehand to use the rules in the ebook at that moment.

SJ
