Gathering Storm Part 1 - Be'lakor

Greetings, for me it's been a while since I heard of the old Be'lakor. I remember his miniature and the fact that he was the first human to attain deamonhood.
This involves an action made in the Gathering Storm by Be'lakor.

Gathering Storm Spoilers

Spoiler:

In the Gathering Storm part one, Be'lakor and a host of Iron Warriors lead by a Warsmith name Sho'Tun [sp?] Teleport directly onto the Imperial Fist Flagship/Fortress the Phalanx.
How they heck did they do this? And so close to Terra, in orbit of Terra actually. Ignoring any wards, sigils, psychic fields ect.

Does Be'lakor have an ability to just be where he wants to be? Did I miss something in the background somewhere? The whole attacked not only seemed like a rushed story, it physically was a two-page spread
with a GIANT picture on an Imperial Fist covering up a large amount of the page where some gorram buildup could have been!

All in, I thought it was one of the weaker stories in the book, although it was vital to setup the rescue at the fall of Cadia. The Imperial Navy would be wondering where the Phalanx went, Stormtroopers could or would be teleported aboard if they called for aid, heck even Custodes could have left the Emperor's side for once.

*Only if you've finished part one*

Spoiler:

CUSTODES
What happened to the one Gold Armored, Red Plume warrior that Trazyn the Infinite released with the rest of the captured Imperial Forces!? Did the writer[s] forget about that?

Gathering Storm Part 1 - Be'lakor

The first point definitely stinks. It was clearly just a point to advance the plot and get the Phalanx to Cadia but also slightly de-power it. It could definitely have been done better. I guess (to play devil's advocate) you could argue that, being so old and the first Daemon Prince, Be'lakor has knowledge of forgotten rituals that can bypass the protections in place around the Sol System. Perhaps these rituals are very dangerous and the wards can still kill him given the chance, or perhaps they require tremendous sacrifice and offerings to fuel. That could explain why he didn't do. Be'lakor is extremely secretive, jealous, and power hungry so it would make sense for him to keep such a powerful tool to himself. Or perhaps its just a rushed plot device. To be honest it didn't take away from the overall plot that much for me.
As for the Custodes. That battle was pretty damn intense, I just assumed he died. The First Heretic made it pretty clear that despite Custodes being exceptionally skilled warriors, they can still be taken out by squads of Astartes if the numbers are stacked against them.

Gathering Storm Part 1 - Be'lakor

I like that idea for Be'lakor knowing ancient shamanistic rituals that can bypass the more modern wards. Or even a large ritual, like you stated that requires great sacrifice, unfortunately any details were left out, bummer.

As for the Phalanx, I guess it really IS that powerful, to take on a fleet by itself.

I think the battle in the catacombs of -deleted- might have been so intense the authors forget about him, XD
