Hello from Shapeways in NYC

Hello,

My name is Andrew, I’m a community manager from Shapeways. We just started sponsoring ads here so I felt this would be a good opportunity to introduce myself and our company.

Shapeways is a creative community of makers, designers, and entrepreneurs using 3D printing to bring their ideas to the physical world. Designers can use Shapeways to manufacture products with complex designs in over 58 different high-quality materials and finishes—enabling people to expand their limits as designers and makers. We already have a huge group of designers in our marketplace designing for tabletop and wargaming.

About myself, I’m originally from Boston but now live in Brooklyn. I’m also 3D designer and artist interested in tabletop gaming. I haven’t played Warhammer 40k (yet) but have long been attracted to the immaculate detail of the sculpts and the quality of painting I’ve seen.

If you have any questions regarding 3D printing for 40k or about myself feel free to ask and see you around!

https://www.shapeways.com/

Hello from Shapeways in NYC

Welcome to the party. I've designed and printed things on Shapeways for my Space Marines army. I'm pretty happy with the results.

Might be nice to put together some "Tips and Tricks for Hobbyists". Things like putting multiple small pieces on a sprue or frame so you're technically only printing one item. I think more people might use Shapeways if they knew how to make it more affordable.

Thanks!

Oh cool glad you've already started printing, I'd love to see what you've made if you have any photos.

That's a great suggestion, I think I can put some cool tips together, when and how to use sprues could be a cool one. Anything else you'd think folks would need to know about printing?
