Choosing a Wraithknight

So here's my conundrum. I'd like to pick up a Wraithknight, but can't decide which one.

For my purposes, the Wraithknight needs to fit the following criteria:
* Will only ever be fielded in competitive, rather than casual settings.
* Will always be fielded in settings that use ITC rules and restrictions.
* Will almost always be fielded in an army that is most Ynnari.
* Will primarily be dealing with enemy heavy armor as first priority (MCs/GMCs are not its first priority--other units do that).

Now, the stock Wraithknight has some good weapons, but the ITC alteration to the ranged D table hurts it. A melee variant can do some damage, but is limited in its capacity to get where it needs to go fast enough. However, the 'nilla knight can be taken in a Ynnari Warhost, meaning it can benefit from Soulbursts.

The Deathshroud Skathach seems like it could be okay, but it's very rarely going to be able to destroy vehicles outright, and will primarily benefit me in taking down hordes. Further, since the Ynnari will frequently be up in the enemy's face or Deep Striking down amongst them, the Hellstorm will have limited firing opportunities.

The Inferno Lance Skathach seems like it has a much better weapon, especially in the ITC format. However, the inability to benefit from Soulburst (and the requirement to take a CWE CAD just to bring it along) is a negative.

What do you guys think? What's the best option? I'm leaning heavily towards option one or two, but if you have a strong case for three or four I'll happily hear you out.

Option One: Regular Wraithknight with Heavy Wraithcannons

Option Two: Skathach Wraithknight with Inferno Lances

Option Three: Regular Wraithknight with sword and shield

Option Four: Skathach Wraithknight with Deathshroud Cannons

Option Five: Confused/unsure/don't know enough to make an informed decision

Option Six: Other (please elaborate)

Choosing a Wraithknight

Given your stated choice of having it deal with heavy armour, I think the duel Inferno Lance is probably the best option. Sword and Board would be the other main option I think, so Drasius suggestion of magnets to try the two out would be a good idea I think.

Choosing a Wraithknight

Up until Ynnari were a thing, I'd been using the Inferno Lance WK. It is much more reliable than the Wraithcannon WK, even without the ITC format.
The Standard WK it fishing for 6s and if the enemy army has no large targets like tanks, MCs or Knights, it is hard to get its points worth and I often end up just throwing it into combat.
The Inferno lance WK, on the other hand can still deal with big targets like MCs, tanks, etc, but has the added advantage of being able to kill more that 2 models per turn.

Another bonus is that it benefits more from the ability to shoot are 2 targets. Since the Heavy Wraithcannons are only 1 shot, I often found myself shooting both shots at the same target as 1 shot often missed or rolled a 1 on the D.
Having D3+2 melta shots at EACH target makes it much more comfortable to target separate units.

However, now that the standard WK can Soulburst, you may get more opportunities to shoot, thus making it a decent choice too. Mu suggestion would be to get the regular kit and make slight modifications to the guns to look like Wraithcannons or Inferno lances. Then you can use it as either the standard WK in an Reborn Host, or the Inferno lance WK in every other list. That's what I did:

Spoiler:

My third choice would be the Glaive & Shield, but since the WK's basic CC ability is good already, I'd rather have some anti-armour shooting.

-

So you can have a WK with 1 Inferno Lance and a 5++. Best of both worlds

Side note: Is anyone else bummed that the Inferno Lance does not actually have the Lance rule?

-

Choosing a Wraithknight

If you want competitive then I'd recommend an invulnerable save on whoever you pick if possible. There is so much out there that will ignore your 3+ armor and wound on a 3+/2+ even with your high Toughness that FNP alone isn't gonna cut it.

I recommend Sword+Board personally. You're gonna wanna be in melee anyway to make use of Stomp and Soulburst, with the FAQ, now let's you charge into a second combat after the first.

Ideally, you can charge, wipe a unit with the sword, then charge into another unit and stomp them.

Choosing a Wraithknight

I haven't tried fitting in a CAD for a skatach yet, but I think I may do so. Autarch + obsec + skatach is pretty nice, and he can still proc strength from death for your Ynnari units. The only real question is do you need more anti tank or more anti infantry. Depends on the rest of your list, but both the inferno lances and death shroud cannons are spectacular. Like really spectacular. With GW's clarification on how soul bursts work in CC, it's good that the sword and board WK is still viable, but I don't know that it's better than either of the FW shooty variants.

Choosing a Wraithknight

I've taken 2 Inferno lance WKs on a Landing Pad before. It was brutally effective. If you are taking a CAD, I recommend Inferno lances and a Landing Pad.
Plus having a Landing pad is great for Scatterbikes too.

If you are going Ynnari, take the vanilla WK and make sure he stays close to as many units as possible.
