second army advice (blood angels)

So, i'm placing an order right now for everything I want to finish out my blood angels army (there's a couple things i don't have, but i don't especially want, like bikers or stormravens). That means that I want to start planning what my next army will be that i'll start several months from now. i'm kind of stumped as to what I should get, and was hoping for advice from other players.

So, i want to avoid power armor (i have blood angels, and in the past, i've had chaos marines, dark angels, and grey knights. I'm sick of painting power armor). I would like an army that is not close combat centric (but not to the exclusion of close combat like tau). I'm also looking for an army that can compete in at least mid to high teir games. Allies to blood angels would be a plus, but is not necessary.

so, armies i've been looking at (in no order):

1.) orks. I know they're supposedly "bad" right now, but every batrep i see, they win or barely lose. I'd avoid going super into CC with mega nobs and choppa boy squads and go more with trukks full of shootas, bikers, mek guns, etc. They would be shooty (inaccurate, but lots of dakka), but also able to make a charge if needed. I worry, however, that i'll end up having a bad experience with them and all i've seen has been some sort of bias. I like orks quite alot, but i don't need another close combat army that can't win games. I'm a fan of ork lore (but, really, i haven't met any who isn't). I like having the option to scratch build models, and come up with some cool, unique conversions.

2.) genestealer cult. One of my friends is pushing me to get them. I'm kind of "meh" on the idea. It's mostly because i haven't played against them at all and don't have any firsthand experience with them. they seem pretty good, and i've heard lots of good things. The models are nice. With their numbers, they can probably put out some good firepower and handle close combat at least decently well. The whole "summoning squads" thing seems kind of broken, though...I worry they might be too close combat centric.

3.) militarum tempestus. I like the idea of storm troopers coming in and crushing areas with their high ap weapons, i like the models quite a bit. I've always wanted to do an olive drab sort of paratrooper looking army. And while i know it's an unpopular opinion, i think the taurox looks great. Their orders seem really good too. however, their points costs + t3 + only having a 4+ save worries me. They need to get close to use their hot shots and special weapons, but if they don't win that initial ranged attack seem really really prone to getting wiped out by even bolter fire. They could be used as allies, but i'm not sure what gap they would fill blood angels already can't do (ap3 shooting, i guess, but only s 3...)

4.) inquisition. Opens up opportunity for some neat conversions. they would make good allies for blood angels too, amping up their psychic powers, and the servo skulls would help the OIF. henchman squads can cover shooting at least decently well, with bolter guardsmen being the same cost as normal guardsmen. One can even include some crusaders or death cult assassins so a squad can handle a charge too. However, i don't think i would ever be able to field a full inquisition army with any real confidence. They just seem way too limited in that regard, and i feel like i might get bored of them quickly (like i did grey knights)

5.) eldar. the same friend that wants me to get genestealer cult also wants me to get eldar. I'm kind of at a loss on this. eldar fluff is fine, the models are okay, and there are a few things i really like. The thing is though, the things i like seem to be the less powerful things the eldar have (aspect warriors (particularly howling banshees) and walkers). I like wraiths too, but the idea of putting d weapons on the table, i don't like. I also hate the idea that i might get branded as being "that guy" for having eldar.

6.) tyranids. internet says they're bad, but i can't seem to beat a competent nidzilla player. Their high toughness and wounds with their high strength means that they're difficult to kill. Of course, that's mostly my fault, because I play close combat armies, so i have no choice but to try and beat them at their own game. I actually really like their playstyle, and their fluff is decent. I really like the synergy between big things and having smaller hordes of little gaunts to cover the map with. The tervigon also seems awesome. It lets you bring in more troops, but isn't as silly as daemon factory, or even genestealer cult can be IMO. The only thing i don't like about tyranids (and i realize this is huge), is their models. I hate, hate, hate, tyranid models. I can't even really pinpoint exactly what it is either, i just can't stand them. Maybe it's because my friend has smashed my face in so many times with them (because i like genestealer cult models), but i just don't feel any attachment to the way they look currently.

a little about me as a player:
-my friends refer to my playstyle as "berserker." i tend to forget about the mission fairly frequently and have a tendency to focus on tabling my opponent.
-I don't like relying on psykers. They're too random, and can cause their whole army to fall apart simply because they rolled badly, or rolled worthless powers. I hate fishing for powers most of all (INVISIBILITY).
- the idea of bringing in "free" units is fine, but needs some sort of balancing mechanic (tervigons can only make gaunts, and only so many times. KDK can make good stuff, but only after a good chunk of their army has already been destroyed) IMO.
-I'm not worried about winning every match. Lord knows, i've lost nearly every one since i started this hobby 6 years ago. I just don't want to LOSE every match. I like to go to a table with at least some idea that "hey, i could win this game".
-I really dislike "crutch" units or items. My main reason for leaving the grey knights was that they could basically only win games if they bring dreadknights. I've seen my guard player friend doing the same thing with wyverns, paskisher, and fishing for invisibility. most tau players i've seen rely on riptides and storm surges to do all their work "oh, and there are some fire warriors and pathfinders too".
-I like simple plans. I can't remember and pursue complex tricksy plans.

sorry for the wall of text, and i appreciate any feedback i can get, thanks!
