Using Pistol Models to Represent Special Weapons on Bikers

Hey all, as far as special weapons upgrades on bikes go, I always thought it looked silly having a full sized, two handed guns being manhandled one-handed.

I know fluff wise space marines are super human and all blah blah, but something about it always seemed so off.

It may be confusing for sergeant loadouts who can actually equip a grav pistol, but for normal squads i feel like its perfectly acceptable to represent grav guns with grav pistols.

Any thoughts/pictures? Anyone have any experiences using a pistol model (i.e. grav pistol in lieu of grav guns) and have any issues at tourney's and other stores?

Using Pistol Models to Represent Special Weapons on Bikers

In my group it'd be fine... but at clubs, events, especially tournaments etc I think it's a little off, it's an entirely different weapon type.

You could always use both riding arms, and mount the weapon, maglocked, to the bike for easy access.

Tournaments etc. you may indeed. It wouldn't be WYSIWYG at all, so it depends on the rules you're playing under.

There are a number of guns on wrist mounts that might work better for you. Mostly BA and GK. Might be able to mod off of those.

For my bikers I used the special weapon part of combi weapons in place of one of the bikes bolters, that way they have both their special weapon represented and the bolter represented.
