It is a very durable, shooting-heavy Dreadnought. Very much worth the investment. Since you stated that you are playing 1000 point games another option is going super-cheap. A dreadnought with power fist, storm bolter, and multi-melta is dirt cheap. It's not great, but on the other hand your enemy just can't ignore it either. Depending on your local meta, that 105 point dreadnought could easily force your opponent to counter it with a couple squads worth much more. Sure, there dreadnought might not make its points back, but that's not really the point either.
