Khornate Brass, Bone and Paint Range Chart

I've started painting some Khorne Berzerkers in The Wrath paint scheme, done a few trial models and hit some road blocks. Firstly, for the brass trim I used Warplock Bronze with an Agrax Earthshade wash, so far so good, following a Black Library Khorne guide I was then supposed to brighten it up with Brass Scorpion. On the Dakka paint compatability chart it lists Vallejos Hammered Copper as a substitute, so I used that instead and now it looks more like, well, copper. The name probably should have given it away. Is it worth buying Brass Scorpion or will it turn out the same as the paint chart suggests? How do other people do Khornate Brass?

The other question is about The Wrath's bone helms and weapon cases. I started with Zandri Dust, then used a Vallejo Sepia wash (substitute for Seraphim Sepia) but the yellowing seemed a bit intense, should I just use Agrax Earthshade instead for washing bone? Also, I've seen a lot of people use drybrushing for bone, but with the brass trim that will be very difficult, should I just finish all the bone bits before starting anything else? Not sure if that's the best way because then I wouldnt be able to make any mistakes on the trim.

I can't help with the Brass, but I've always liked drybrushing for skulls and bones, partly because of the powdery effect it gives. If you keep it slow and steady, you building up the effect gradually, and keep making the drybrush colour lighter until you're happy with the result. You can also drybrush with something much smaller than named "drybrush brushes", which gives you more control and lets you get multiple details drybrushed relatively close together. Still going to have to finish that before the brass and wash (on that subject, maybe worth going for a wash to darken the brass back?),

I have painted some of my Khorne models as the Skullsworn from the Khorne Daemonkin book. I use Screaming Bell as the base color, shading with Agrax Earthshade and highlighting with Hashut Copper. I think it looks good. I would think that Warplock Bronze would be a little dark, although if you are looking for a deep bronze color it could work well.

Khornate Brass, Bone and Paint Range Chart

Thanks guys, I tried drybrushing the bone but the powdered look didn't look quite right on these models, I guess because the parts are supposed to be metal and there's a lot of flat surfaces (like the Berzerker's "bunny ears"). I found a guide on Deathwing bone armour that works pretty well though.

You're right Warplock Bronze was very dark after the wash, Hammered Copper brightened it right up but clashed with the red, I'll pick up some Screaming Bell today and try that as a base. I also watched a GW video for some Khorne AoS models and he used Balthasar Gold as a base, I originally wanted to avoid gold altogether but that one seems to be really muted and worked well.
