Different Ork heads mean which tribes on sprues?

Recently after picking up Shadow Wars, I got to looking at the ork sprues that came in the box;
Having not paid any attention to them in decades it made me wonder what the different heads
meant for each tribe.
I know you can mix and match the different heads as you like..
but just like the top knot head.. shouldn't that be used for the snake bite clan
and the horned helmet be for the the Goff tribe??

Just wondering the break down of what people think of what the heads should be to which tribe..
because the two I listed is as far as I could remember how they were done in the past

Different Ork heads mean which tribes on sprues?

My own personal Ork collection has each Clan represented by different Units and appropriate color scheme.

So I have some Trukk boyz wearing red colors, shoulder pads, and glyphs for the Evil Suns.

Some yellow and gold Shoota boyz in a blinged out goldrimmed trukk for the Bad Moons.

The Lootaz in blue for Death Skullz.

The 'Ard Boyz get all the helmeted head, iron gobbs, and bigger shoulder pads and are painted Goffs.

The Kommandos and Deff Koptaz in a camouflage color for Blood Axe.

And the Wyrdboyz and Gretchin slavers as Snake Bites.

so basically... Its more about color scheme, that top knot or that hemet can be painted any color and drastically change the boys personal Clan allegiance.

I agree about the color scheme point. I have also found leather pilot helmets from dekkajets/stormboyz fit to a a lot of evil suns artwork. I save the helmets with the bionic eye for badmoons as well as any head/torso/legs with a lot of teeth on them. I use the normal heads primarily for deathskulls for face paint. And the pointed Mongolian helmets for snakebites (these look good with the old fantasy bodies that match the fur). Aos/fantasy make really good heads for anything aswell because of helmet variety and open mouths. I use the military looking heads from the dakkajet or stormboyz for blood axes. I kit bash a lot with ork boyz

Different Ork heads mean which tribes on sprues?

It wasn't necessary but I made my army composed of Goffs, Deathskulls, and Evil Sunz. In the process I suppose I decided to give Goffs the horned helmets, Deathskulls helmets with no horns and my Evil Sunz have the Mongolian fur rimmed helmets. Mixed into all three are bare headed orks and hair squigs. This is all on top of keeping to their proper colour scheme.
