They both hold razor sharp tips for the longest time if you take decent care of them.

The WN7 are slightly firmer which apparently makes it better suited to painting small details where the Raphael are slightly more flexible making them apparently better suited to glazes and blending. 1) Raphael 8404 series
2) Winsor & Newton series 7 watercolor


Of these two, I like the raphael better, but regularly use both.
