I won't make a Grey Knight army, so I've been trying to figure out how to use the bits. They won't fit plastic termies, but they'll fit metal ones. I've found good prices on eBay for unarmed (pun intended) termies or squads with unarmed metal termies. However, the only right hand metal Terminator bit that doesn't have a gun of some kind are arms with Thunder Hammers.

Thus my question, is it possible in 7th or 8th edition to bring Terminators with Thunder Hammers and Storm Bolters? Or Thunder Hammers and no Storm Shields? You might want to take a look at 30k. In 7th you have the choices of:
Two Lightning Claws
Thunder Hammer w/ Stormshield

That is it, has to be one of those two.

SM a thunder hammer but no Storm shield is as a character unless you play Grey Knights (Daemon Hammer) or Space Wolves.

SM, BA and DA are all restricted to that paring and Chaos can't have thunder hammers at the moment.
