Painting Adeptus Custodes & Reikland Fleshshade vs Agrax Earthshade.

Hello, hello, Dakka Dakka.

So I'm desperate to start painting my custodians and have many questions. The first I one I need to get out of the way is actually about this video: http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2016/10/painting-custodes-sisters-the-gw-way.html

When the big D applies the Auric Armour Gold, I can't tell if he's only painting it on the details/icons of the armour or all of the armour itself (like an all over layer) can somebody review this video and let me know?

The reason Im asking is because I wanted to paint over all the icons with Liberator Gold like in this book: https://www.google.ca/search?q=how+to+paint+burning+of+prospero&client=ms-android-samsung&source=android-browser&prmd=ivsn&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj03-yKleTTAhUo4IMKHaITBpwQ_AUICSgB&biw=360&bih=512&dpr=3#tbm=isch&q=how+to+paint+burning+of+prospero+custodes&imgrc=OtYQtJKPq-QSCM:
The thing is, if Duncan intends that the Auric Armour Gold is to go on all flat areas, it would then conflict with the book's placement of Liberator Gold, making the whole thing confusing. The problem is, I MUCH prefer the paint scheme on the box of the custodians and on the Burning of Prospero box than I do on the Talons of the Emperor box except I don't have the BoP painting guide (which seems like it teaches you that scheme) so I wanted to get as close to paint scheme while also following Duncan's video.

So yeah, Does he imply that Auric Armour Gold is ment to be an all-over layer which avoid recesses, or does he mean to just put it on details like the lightning bolts and stuff?

Thanks Dakka Dakka Dakka Dakka!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Also, Reikland Fleshshade looks to red for me.. how would the end result look if i were to use Earthshade instead? And what about the glosses, are those worth using instead?

If it's the latter then it does match the book and would also conflict with it it, meaning I wouldn't be able to take parts from the book and apply it to the video.
What I want to do is highligt all the lighting and Aquila motifs like how it shows in the book but finish the model off Duncan style. Now I just gotta gotta get something to remove this paint I accidently sprayed too much of..

There is no right or wrong way, and there is no reason that you can't combine the painting techniques.
