Painting commissions?

It's a much bigger question than that- what quality are you after? How much money are you looking to spend? How fast do you want it done? (Nearly all good painters will have a waiting list) special requests such as freehand, airbrushing, conversions, weathering? All of these will narrow down the search to someone best suited to your job.

I'm not that experienced with commission painters, I've used two and emailed maybe six or seven others over the years, but they all generally take into account the above factors.

Painting commissions?

Here's what I'm looking for (from an email I sent frontline painting that they never responded to):

Hello,

I'm interested in having my Imperial Knight Warden fully assembled, painted and magnetized. Here's what I am looking for:

- Fully assembled
- Magnetized
- All options in the kit assembled and painted
- Painted to "Tabletop Plus"
- Base level three

On the base I was looking to have the Knight stomping onto a rhino, crushing it. Perhaps the rhino could be a black, Chaos Rhino? I'm sure that would cost extra. Also, I was hoping to have all options for Imperial Knights painted and magnetized, meaning that I could field each of the Knight variants (Warden, Paladin, etc) and each of the weapon variants. The kit I have is for an Imperial Knight Warden. Perhaps I can purchase the extra bits through Frontline. I'm not sure of the color scheme but I'm not interested in yellows or white.

Painting commissions?

Very ballpark, I'd probably be looking for in the regions of £750 - £800 for that sort of job. You're also unlikely to get a complete rhino on there, meaning it'd be a wreck (which comes with it's own headaches as far as fitting it on the Knight's base).

Re:Painting commissions?

winterdyne is correct about the Rhino fitting on a Knight's base.

The scenery set with a blasted Rhino and cratered ground might be a good starting pointfor getting the Rhino aspect of the model settled.

Also, I recommend Garden Ninja Studios. I've been using Garden Ninja regularly since 2009 and haven't had any problems.

Painting commissions?

Actually you're probably better of with two knights and split the cost of the rhino between the two jobs, or source a cheap ruined one via eBay - I reckon not much more than maybe 1/4 of the rhino could be made to fit. The terrain kit's not great for chopping up IIRC.
