Any ideas of a bit or an easy way to craft something up to stick on there? From what I can see, the models leave plenty of room for it. I don't think it would be too hard to make something out of plasticard. Buttstocks are obselete ons Bolters as the power armour and strength of a space marine or Primaris is quite capable of handling recoil. They also had removable pistol grips. You could leave both on, if you were using alternate weapons (or wanted it slung).

That said, the main reason weapons have them today is to assist with the amelioration of recoil.
