Liquitex Flow aid vs Pouring Medium for washes

Hello, so I am not too familiar with making my own washes.

After finding a useful thread:: http://theleadheadblog.blogspot.com/2010/07/making-your-own-washes.html?m=1

I decided to try and make the 'Les' Wash Recipe'.

However I haven't been able to find Liquitex Flow Aid in stores and was told it changed names to Pouring Medium.
On Liquitexes website it shows they are different products. I am curious what the difference is between them if anymore knew more about pouring medium??

I understand flow aid should turn you paint/ink etc into vodka consistency if used enough. Does pouring medium do a similar effect? The way it sounds makes it sound like it globs into puddles but wouldn't exactly just run into the recesses and cracks for a good wash!

Thank you in advance

I use future floor finish instead of flow aid (same ratio) and it works a treat. Get a big bottle of it at Walmart and it will last forever. Really good by itself as a gloss finish as well.

All you need is a surfactant that elimates the surface tension in the water and lest the wash flow. You can even use liquid dish soap.
