Gloo is Gooey? Help

I just returned from a year long break from the hobby, and just thus morning I'm trying to put together some pewter Kasrkin and my GW super glue seems to have some stick to it, but instead of being runny it is very viscous and gooey. Is there a way to fix this? What could be the cause? Thank you in advance.

It's gone "off"; it does that ( read somewhere that it has a shelf life of six months). Just chuck it out and buy some more; you can get superglue just about everywhere.

Gloo is Gooey? Help

It simply sounds like it has gotten too old. Unlike some adhesives, super glue most definitely has a shelf life, a very short one once the container has been opened and exposed to air. Your glue is pretty much done for, I am afraid.

Mike's tips for buying super glue -
1. Buy the smallest possible amount you can for the project you're working on right now. That 2 oz. supersized bottle seems like a good deal, until you come back months later and find it gloopy or hardened....
2. Refrigerate the unused portions of your smallest practical container. This helps give you a bit more working time with it after its been opened.

Hope that helps some. I know GW stuff isn't cheap, so I hope you didn't lose too much.

The gel helps it hold tight before it finishes curing and lets you put stuff together a lot faster with less hassle.

Gloo is Gooey? Help

I've tried using past it's prime super glue before... not worth the headache when it falls apart.

You're better off getting new Loctite. The gel recommended works well but the liquid is fine too if you've got large contact areas or are pinning.
