Primarchs and others in 8th edition

Others = non-Primarch characters like Loken and Sevatar.

Could it be done? Maybe. I've seen the rules for them in their HH books, and while some would translate to 8th well, most probably wouldn't. Anything to do with Reserves, Initiative, Deep Striking (helping or hindering), Night Fighting, etc would just plain not work.

Old rules like Sunder (re-roll armour pen) could become "re-roll failed wounds", Murderous Strike (wound roll of 6 is ID) could remain as is or inflict a mortal wound instead of instant death.

As for Primarch stats, Guilliman's 40k counterpart could be used as a template. Those like Mortarion and Vulkan could have increased Toughness and Wounds, and those like Angron could have increased Strength and Attacks. Movement wise, I'd think most would move at 8" like Guilliman, but fast movers like Fulgrim and Corax could move anywhere up to 12", or maybe more.

Any thoughts on this? Some other group has taken to porting HH to 8th edition. They just lack special characters and Imperial Army at this time.
