So 2 attacks twice is 4, and 1 bonus attack twice is 2.

The bonus attack is extra just for being equipped with the sword, and the only attack you have to make with the sword is the bonus one (if you want).

I wouldn't call it base, It's 2 attacks base and an extra sword attack
