So can Space Wolves, Deathwatch, etc... use objectives, stratagems, psyker spells from new codex?

So can Space Wolves, Deathwatch, etc... use objectives, stratagems, psyker spells from new codex?

There is this quote from the Community page for example:

"If you have a Deathwatch army, the same applies. For the Deathwatch, as well as new units, if you have the new Codex: Space Marines, feel free to use the full range of powers from the Space Marines Librarius Discipline in there for your Librarians. You’re equally welcome to stick with the Index powers if you prefer."

They've also stated that you can use the new Primaris models that have been released.

I'm guessing there must be some sentence that states you must be "Ultramarine, Deathwing, blahblahblah.... to use these objectives/traits/stratagems"?

Can anyone with a copy of the codex confirm?

So can Space Wolves, Deathwatch, etc... use objectives, stratagems, psyker spells from new codex?

The generic Stratagems and objectives yes, but none of the Chapter Specific ones would be my guess.

OK. I wasn't sure how much "generic" stuff is in there.

You cannot take the librarius powers if you're space wolves. You would need a Space Marine librarian, like an Ultramarines librarian, in your army to take them.

My assumption would be, the same would hold true of the stratagems but we will see.

The rune priest specifically only knows powers from the Tempestas discipline, and you cannot take a space wolves librarian.

You can take a space marine librarian with a different chapter in the same army as the SW, though, and both the index and space marine codex powers do work on SW (any adeptus astartes, in fact) units.

They cannot use the strategems, though, unless you have a "Space marine detachment" which i think means an entire detachment of only space marines, and they can only effect space marine units of that .

So, for the most part, the answer is no, they have to wait for their own codexes.

Looking at the section on stratagems from screen grab:

If you were using "Deathwatch"... I don't see why you couldn't take these stratagems. Even if you are a "Space Marines" detachment, it doesn't deactivate all your Deathwatch abilities.

Anyone have confirmation of this? I heard on the FTN podcast that they assumed all the generic Stratagems would work for those Chapters not covered in the book. But... it was an assumption.

Frankly, looking over it, getting access to the Relics and Stratagems seems like some must have stuff.

Well you can take an Adeptus Astartes detachment.... and still retain all your "Chapter" stuff.
