-I am new to this forum. So, thanks for having me!
-I am (relatively) new to war gaming, specifically 40K – by relatively, I mean I’ve painted models for a couple of years and have read a bunch of the books (avid fan of the hobby since I was young), but very little games played. 8th Edition has peaked my interest in playing.
-I am not new to tabletop / board games – have played a TON of the usual stuff, Magic the Gathering, a variety of Fantasy Flight Games, Heroclix, etc.

I’ve recently moved with my wife from Chicago to the great state of Iowa because of work and have been looking for a gaming group / club that’s local (or kind of close). Most that I’ve seen are located toward the Des Moines area, but curious to see if there’s anyone near the Quad Cities / Eastern Iowa / Western Illinois who actively plays 40K (or other games) on these forums.

I’m in the process of painting my first 40K army (Ultramarines!) using the 8th edition box set as well as the Strike Force Ultima set. Still got a long way to go for a fully painted army; however, searching for some games to be played!

Other than that, looking forward to reading through the forums and discussing this great hobby!
