Basing army in a consistent way - AoS

Hey,

I wanted to ask for some tips around basing Age of Sigmar (but I guess could be applied to most games). I'm finishing painting Silver Tower - this was my first GW game that I painted. I went with a pretty simple base style - black with some grey/white drybrush and a few cork stones. Here's the result.

Now I wanted to paint the AoS start set with stormcast eternals and the khorne guys. To make things more interesting I wanted to choose a different base style/color for each army. Maybe add some skulls/ruins/tufts. However I already painted silver tower with all bases black and was hoping to use those minis, which belong to multiple factions e.g the Knight Questor with my other armies. So now I have a dilemma should I continue to use same base style which will make things consistent but dull or go with different ones and accept the fact that e.g. my Knight Questor will have a different base than all the other stormcast eternals.

So I guess my question is what's the right balance between consistency and variety in basing? Am I making too big of a deal that a few minis will have a different base or is it better to stick to one style for single faction? Maybe I should deliberately make the unique minis on a bit different / more complex bases to make them stand out?

I'll appreciate any hints!

Repainting the rims of those bases would only take like 20 minutes. I think the gray talus and black rims is kind of dull. I'd choose a contrasting rim color that makes them stand out. Dark navy blue would match your current color scheme nicely.
