Mephiston Red primer?

Hi, I made a mistake. I bought mephiston Red spray thinking It was a primer and sprayed directly over the miniature. What should I do? Prime over the Red with a Black primer and again with mephiston Red or remove It someway and start from the beginning? Thanks for your help

Mephiston Red primer?

Take a brush, thin down some normal Meph red and just paint over the mini. Straight paint will eventually go over the model, but it won't stick or protect as well as primer. If the spray was thin, then you can prime but that won't help any as it still has an undercoat of spray paint.

Re:Mephiston Red primer?

Thank you. So It's better to remove the Red and then prime with Chaos Black. There's a way to do this without damaging the miniatures? Miniatures are plastic marines.

Automatically Appended Next Post:

Ghaz wrote:
GW uses their colored sprays as a base coat on plastic miniatures allof the time without a primer.

Ah ok but the miniature will not loose color in time without the primer?

Mephiston Red primer?

For the most part. Primer allows paint to stick to the model so it doesn't scratch easy. A finish protects the surface, primer protects the base.
