Chaos Primaris - Need help

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, Im totally new to the hobby, and new to these forums.

Im here to ask for some help, please answer the question as if I know no terminology or lingo.
I bought some Primaris space marines and wanted to convert them to Chaos, I was pretty successful, but I ran into a road block. The little winged skulls on their chests seem out of place for a chaos chap.
Since Im new to the hobby, whats the best, and cheapest way of getting rid and smoothing out parts of the molding on models? Please keep in mind, I dont have a million dollars to drop on some tiny power sander thingie. (Dremel?)

Yep, it's far easier to shave those down before assembly. You can get most of them with an xacto.

They are called mold lines. So if you search for a mold line remover, you'll find several tools designed for the job. GW makes one, others companies makes them too. But really you can simply use a hobby knife, if you scrape with the blade instead of cut.

Same if you want to cut the eagle off their chest, you can use a hobby knife to do that, and smooth it out afterwards, either by scraping or using a small file.

Unfortunately it seems like you may have put the models together before removing the mold lines, which makes it a little more difficult. But regardless, you should be able to scrape them off anyway.

File it down, or carefully scrape it off with a hobby knife. A Dremel would most definitely work, but isn't worth the investment unless you know you'll be using it for far more than just five miniatures.

Nice conversions, the imperium does not deserve to keep these primaris to himself.
I turned my primaris to chaos by cutting an filing these wings, keeping some of the skulls. As said above, if you can still disassemble them it will be much easier.

Alternatively, and depending on the look of you army you can cover them up with doodads, for example rolling hobby chain around the end of bolters, or greenstuff parchment over the chest for a more wordbearerish look.

Keep it up !
