I designed the detachable Drop Pod with the thought that a full mechanized infantry platoon with all their vehicles could be transported from space.  The Drop Pod is held in place with actual magnets while being transported under the ship.  Upon landing the Dropship can detach and provide fire support from the air.<br /> <br /> The Drop Pod was built using sheet plastic around a block of Styrofoam with two side doors, two upper hatch’s, and full bay doors at both ends.  The doors are fixed in place and do not open.
