I've been checking out paint schemes and reading up on color theory preparing to paint my 'nids now for a long while. (the poll is based on minis in general, not tyranids specifically)
I'd be interested to know how you like your minis and what you think looks the best.

Here you can see an example of my painting. To be honest this was done a year or so ago, and in the meantime I have improved. I should really start posting images again...

GW models for the most part are so unrealistic that trying to paint them realistically seems like a bit of a waste of effort. For my nids I do a edge highlight along all the carapace, claws, talons etc...
