Matte finish

Hey guys, so I'm interested in hearing how I am to finish my models with some kind of matte spray. Do any of you do this? How should I? What is easiest/cheapest?

Personally, I use Warpainter "Anti-Shine". Downside to it is that it doesn't really offer much protection. Most of the matt varnishes Ive used don't seem to protect that well.

I use AK interactive Satin varnish under it. Watered down 2 varnish to 1 water and i just brush it on.

I've been through quite a bit of different coats - from art specialist stuff, to hardware store stuff. The current combo seems to give me a good combination of protection, lack of discoloration, and matt-ness.

Conventional wisdom has generally been do a coat of gloss varnish for protection, then bring it down with matte.

Testors Dullcote spray is the matte-est I've ever witnessed.

Testor's Dullcote is the best rattle can available. It's not cheap, but you don't need much. Remember to shake the hell out of it and never start or stop your spray on the model.
