Lava bases, Textured lava flow?

Hi all,

So I've recently started making some volanic/lava bases. I had an attempt at a few of them as a test, used some cork for the ground, painted up the lava quite nicely.....it didn't look bad, but I just thought it looked a little.....flat with the lava flow....

Now I know there are some premade resin bases out there, with suppliers like secret weapo,n which make great lava bases, but when your fleshing out a new bloodbound army that would soon get expensive fleshing out for 40 - 50 bases. Personally I'd rather craft them myself as im poor as gak, my question is: is there a solid way to create a lava flow effect so it doesnt appear flat? I've seen some people use glue mixtures, but I was thinking if this could be achieved with green stuff and texturing accordingly?

If anyone has had experience or knows of any videos that shows how to create a flow texture for basing I would be very much appreciative as right now ive hit a bit of a creative wall D:

Hi!

I made a similar effect using aluminum paper for the lava movement and white glue for the bubbles in the lava.

I hope that the info is useful.
