Astrogranite Debris Help

Hello all, I recently got the Astrogranite Debris texture paint, and I know how to apply it and use it properly, and even though I stirred it, the sand still flakes off. My minis are already based with it, and I really hate it flaking, especially because I use foam to carry my my minis. How should I prevent it from flaking, even though it is already applied? Should I maybe use ‘Ardcoat to seal it on? (‘Ardcoat is a varnish.)

Edit: I tried using a spray on varnish and it still flakes. Ideas?
