I'm building a couple of Storm Guardian units and want to equip them with shorter blades than standard. The inspiration for this came from the Dawn of War computer game and new codex art: -





The first idea is to use the Wych hekatarii blade in a straight hand swap. The second idea is a forearm mounted blade: -



I think both of the above work reasonably well and now I can't decide which I prefer.

I'm leaning toward the hekatarii blade but with each blade design on the Wych sprue being different it could give a slightly individual look to every model (I also don't want my Guardians to look like they looted some Wyches). The forearm blades would be more uniform which could suit Craftworlders better and set them more apart from Wyches.
