Warhammer is good for parents.

Hello my name is Simon. I'm from Cambridge UK.

I used to play Warhammer as a child (back in the day). Space Marines (Blood Angels), Sisters of Battle, Eldar, and Orks (fantasy).

Now my son is getting a bit older, 7 to be exact, I thought Warhammer would be the ideal hobby to get him in to.

I bought him the Know No Fear box for xmas and he absolutely loves it. He is reading more, writing his own little battle reports, painting and using maths. It has had a universally positive impact on him in a very short while. Most of all, it has got him off that bloody tablet.

It used to be a real nightmare to get him to read and now I am finding him tucked up on the sofa or in bed reading his Space Marine codex.

I have decided to get back into it myself. I dug out my old Eldar army, blew off the dust, dettol'd off all the appalling paint and repainted them again.

I look forward to contributing to this forum,

Hello and greetings from a fellow Commonwealth country, Canada!

Creativity and imagination, plus learning about spatial relationships and building dexterity skills.

I started off with model cars and WW2 tanks, then progressed to modern military aircraft before discovering BattleTech then Warhammer.

Plus bonding time between father and children, increasing communication skills, and treasured memories to come!

I always figured if I just keep throwing books at them, eventually they'll learn to read out of self-defense!

Welcome aboard exciting to see another parent/child entering into the fray!
