Dawn eagle jetbike basing question

Hi, I just had a quick question regarding the new vertus praetor jetbikes. They are lovely models, and great to assemble, but I'm having trouble with their bases. The base has a plastic sphere attached to a rod that sits in a plastic hollow on the base of the bike. It doesn't really stay on with friction due to the weight of the model. I don't really want to glue the sphere in place as this'll inevitably lead to broken flying bases over time. Anyone got any advice how to mount them on flying bases without gluing them in place?

The newer style flying stands are rubbish.

I removed the spheres from the tops of the stands and replaced them with 3mm magnets. The weight of the bike and rider was still such that they tilted forwards though, so I had to put some greenstuff in the socket on the bike to make the stand fit in tightly.

I glued mine and have no issues. I store them in foam. The bases are greenstuff and glue to the black oval bases. Very sturdy.
