Not doing my research, I treated the model like I would any plastic model. After assembling and priming (w/ Chaos Black), I waited a bit over 24 hours to use the Macragge Blue spray as a base coat. Now about two days later, I'm ready to finish base coating the other colors, but I noticed a slight shine on some parts of the model.

After doing some research, I learned that I was supposed to rise and scrub the resin before doing anything else. I'm hoping the model isn't ruined beyond repair, as I need this figure for my escalation league ASAP. Would I have to strip the model completely before soaking it and scrubbing off the residue, or could I do it already primed and base coated?

It isn't ruined, you've just left on the mold release agent, which isn't a massive problem but it will mean the super glue is more likely to fail and the paint is more likely to chip. If you're careful it won't be a problem.


That's reassuring. The whole thing isn't shiny, just a few spots where I wouldn't be gluing anything to begin with.
