I'm contemplating using one as a Salamanders character, but there are a couple of things I'm not sure about:
First, Salamanders evidently don't particularly like Moritats. Since my intent is to use the model as an Elite or HQ independent character, that doesn't bother me too much.
Second, which existing characters would be a good choice for a dual-pistol model?
Third, I know that Salamanders aren't exactly big fans of jump packs, but they're also very practical, so I would imagine that they'd be happy to use jump packs if that enables them to get into flamer/melta/thunder hammer range effectively.

As a side-note, I'm planning to use Volkite weapons in my Salamanders as "counts-as-grav" since I feel that Volkite is much fluffier than Grav for Salamanders, and I love the look of the volkite weapons.

So, if I use the plasma Moritat, it's dual plasma pistols. If I use the Volkite Moritat, it's effectively dual grav pistols. I think the Volkite Serpentas are much fluffier, but the plasma might be a better choice.

Mostly, I'm trying to work out who this dual-weild pistol Jump Pack marine is. I kitbashed him with a Power Fist and Combi Plasma to make something which is sometimes a Lieutenant and sometimes a Captain.






Comes down with my squad of plasma vets, also FW models converted as they have two pistol holsters on their legs.

Not fully complete - only had 2 of those fancy dual turbofan packs so gave 1 to the sergeant and replaced them with the single packs I had from another source.

I honestly don't know where the dual fan packs are from.

Based on my reading of the rules, captains and lieutenants can only take one plasma/grav pistol to complement their existing bolt pistol. That means that the moritat would probably need to be a vanguard vet sergeant if I were to field him unmodified.

Now I just need to work out how to give a moritat a thunder hammer...
