[2000] - Nids - 2k Post FAQ - New Opportunity?

Hi guys.

So, looking for a little feedback. So far I have had a single test game with this list.
It played out heavily in my favour.

We added up my opponents total shots per turn for 5 turns. Assuming EVERY shot hit. He still couldnt table me
He wasnt happy

I am undecided on what hive fleet as of yet for the Battalion and the Outrider.
I considered Kronos, but I fight a lot of necrons and tau.

I've used monster heavy lists and they tend to fail horribly in my meta.
Even more so with the DS change. I instantly lose two T7 targets from T1 with my flyrants. Which means, even MORE fire is going to hit my Exo's etc. Not good.

So, heres my counter.

1998pts
CP: 10

Battalion :

Malanthrope 140pts
Neurothrope 70pts
Warlord : Soul Hunger

3x 28 Termagants - 112pts - 336pts
3x 29 termagants - 116pts - 348pts

Outrider :

Neurothrope 70pts

3x3 Meiotic spores 162pts

Vanguard detachment :
2x Primus - 76pts - 152pts

3x 16 Genestealers - 240pts - 720pts

Stealers, Primus and spores will deploy aggressively.

I may split a unit of Gants into 3 units of 10 for backfield. Probably a good idea.

Tactics, T1, provide them with some high threat targets. Using the GSC stratagem for +1 dice on deployment and the re-rolls from the Primus should give me a good chance of 5's and 6's.

Spores are just another threat, for, hopefully, some free MW's. Well, not free. But still.

The gants will be deployed to block off most of the table for T2 and string back to the Mala for that nice -1 bubble.
The Neuro's will be aggressive for smite. They are my only killers outside of the stealers.

Thoughts? Could you kill it without tailoring?

Oh, and I don't really care about high T models. Once the infantry is dead, the volume of fire from other units such as dev squads etc is not a threat. They cannot target my characters.

How do you deal with horde armies? Stuff like Orks, Chaos zombie tide, guardsmen gunlines--Genestealer alpha strike and charge them?

I run 200+ models in my ork army which punishes genestealer charges pretty effectively. Might come down to how many boyz your gants could kill.

I've had little luck with horde nids myself using 100+ guants/stealers with a Mal. for protection. Some armies just have too much shooting. I had more success with Nidzilla lists and Nid gunlines. People learned to focus my stealers down first and then my army lost its hitting power. This type of list depends on your opponents and what they bring (I guess you can say that about every list lol) but in my area it does not do well.

The majority of local players play Tau, Necrons or Dark Eldar.

Each of these armies, after the codexes, I have found VERY hard to beat with any setup.
Their "Takes all" lists seem to more or less hard counter everything.

When the nids codex dropped I found them to be really strong. But, Im now starting to feel like previous editions.

A hard fought victory and a huge amount of luck is required to beat their well tailored lists.
My previous comp lists have fallen flat on their face now. :S

Not sure how I should be feeling.

But im currently not investing any more into nids until things even out.
