Need some advice (DKOK)

Ive collected a fairly small Cadian army during the year since 8th released but now thinking of moving over to DKOK.

Do people generally run DKOK as regular AM with the codex, or do they run them with the Forgeworld Index?
Im mostely interested because of the look of the models, not really care about rules and how effective they are (or arent). And while I would love some deathriders, I also love me some Sentinels.

So im kind of on the fence if I should do this move or not, and if I do how far to take it.

I think you could run them as whatever you wanted to to be fair. I guess most people run them with the Forgeworld rules, certainly in the battle reports I've seen online.

To me Krieg armies are about infantry and ordnance. You could always use your Cadians and proxy the Krieg rules onto them in a few test games if you're unsure.

As for how far you take them I guess that depends on how deep your wallet goes! You could always just start with a small force to compliment your Cadians and go from there.

And I can try make sure I finish painting one thing before buying another, so while I wont shell out a fortune initially, over time the wallet may be as deep as it needs to be.

But what I was thinking is perhaps I would get the infantry and whatnot, but then strip, convert and repaint my chimeras, leman russes and sentinels to fit the part.

If I go down this route though, I think ill at least start with the forgeworld infantry platoon kit. In a VERY relative term, it seems like a good deal.

I use the DKoK-list. It's quite good now with decent orders and the ability to ignore casualties caused in the shooting phase for moral checks, and unlike in the previous two versions, the standard infantry is both cheap and decent. DKoK has access to weapons, equipment and vehicles the standard codex doesn't contain.

The DKoK-list suffers from not having their own Warlord traits, stratagems and objectives, which is a bit of a letdown, with command points having become an integral part of 40k (although I suppose you could use the AM stratagems with an understanding opponent).

You should also get the errata (the one on the Warhammer community page was dated 16.04.18), but both the list and the errata has a number of puzzling shortcomings, such as being unable to field the Hades breaching drill the way it was originally intended, - you can no longer use it with DKoK engineers, and you're left with subpar veterans with worse equipment, even though the Engineers are still in the list and DKoK doesn't normally get veterans.

Need some advice (DKOK)

Well, having managed to sell off my current collection for a decent price, and springcleaned my shelved and cupboards ridding me of anything never in use/never to be in use, ive successfully removed a lot of never to be finished projects that will no longer be stressing me out!

So with a better focus on a single project I ended up ordering the DKOK platoon box and two extra squads at the side as well as a bunch of scenic bases.

I got my work cut out for me but at least ill be painting models I want to paint! Really looking forward to this
