As far as I can tell you're capped at 2? Where did you get the idea of 4 from? Also why specify Walking when wings don't affect your weapon choices at all?

And even if you could why would you want to? Unlike Chainswords you don't get multiple bonus attacks for having multiples. Monstrous Boneswords is listed as a single item in the Monstrous Bio-weapons list. So, if I can choose two items from the Monstrous Bio-weapons lost, I should be able to take two “Monstrous Boneswords” (meaning two sets of two for a total of four).

No, you don't swap them for a Pair of Boneswords, you get one weapon, called "Boneswords". It might take up two arms on the model, but it's still 1 weapon system. You're limited to two weapon choices, period. You start with two Pairs of Monstrous Scything Talons (which are technically 4 weapons, true) but you must swap them out as pairs for other weapons.

And like I said, even if you could do it, it would simply be a waste of points because you don't get any extra attacks from it.

Think of it like swapping a pair of Bolt Pistols for a Lascannon. Right. Regardless of how you model them, "Boneswords" is a single weapon that needs you to swap a pair of talons out for. From my interactions with the BS 40k people, I know a lot of the maintainers have decided (for some bizzare reason) to contradict the rules for "convenience" sake or to not "confuse" people. It does seem odd to not allow this combo but it has no in-game benefit so I can see why people volunteering their time might not consider it a top of their to-do list fix. You clearly have not taken the least amount of time to actually look at the backend structure of BS and tried to understand how the logic used there affects unit selection UX. not to mention the data editor has its own set of quirks that the data maintainers have to work around until they can be fixed.

Calling people sloppy without taking the time to understand why a certain thing might be a certain way isn't just ignorant, it's rude.

Also the CSM and CD entries are exactly the same, as each have been updated with errata on release of the Daemons codex. your wilful ignorance of the fact does not make other people "sloppy" quite the opposite.

In this particular case though, yes there is obviously a bug with the weapon selection, and I have a feeling I know why. Not my catalog but I'll give the tyranid maintainer a poke and raise an issue.

edit: And just like that, hey, its fixed!
